Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion’s Revenge
This loosely follows a similar storyline as the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie if it was unrated with an unlimited special effects budget. The animation reminds me of the animated Batman series. The benefit of animation is there are no limits to how the story is told.
The gore and action easily surpasses the film with a better story making this a solid 8/10 by our standards. Liu Kang is made to be like an animated Bruce Lee with the same moves and mannerisms. Sonya Blade even jokingly called Liu Kang the name Bruce Lee at one point.
Spoilers Ahead:
We watch what looks like Sub-zero kill all of Scorpion’s family gruesomely including his son.
Scorpion ends up in the Neatherrealm and kills a bunch of demons until reaching Quan Chi who makes a deal with Scorpion to fight for Outer Realm in Mortal Kombat and steal the key to free his master.
Earthrealm and Outerrealm fighters meet on Shang Tsun’s island for Mortal Kombat.
In the final fight, Goro nearly defeats Liu Kang but Scorpion at the last moment kills Goro and fights Quan Chi.
