9 Reasons MMA can’t beat Wing Chun

9 Reasons MMA can’t beat Wing Chun

MMA vs. Wing Chun

  1. 2 styles vs. 1 style
It’s not the same comparison. 2 styles is not a style, it is 2 incomplete styles combined.

I will combine Navy seal training with wing chun and see how that does in a fight with no rules including neck breaks and put that on ESPN pay-per-view and say Wing Chun Navy Seal is the best.

  1. Changing the rules would change the style used in the ring like thickness or gloves or bare knuckle.
  2. Every move that is banned in the ring are the most deadly moves like strikes to the back of the head or strikes to the eyes, neck or groin. They even ban certain chokes.

Lookup bjj disqualification on YouTube you will see people getting body slammed. Imagine that happening on concrete.

  1. Having a ref allows you to take more risks and be more aggressive. On the streets you can die going in early.
  2. Look at the people on the street that might attack you and ask yourself if rolling with them body to body is the most ideal way you want to defend yourself. They can bite or stab you.
Being on your back in the street leaves you open to stabbing or stomped by multiple attackers.

Weight classes matter in the street. A monster can throw you like a rag doll above your weight class.

  1. Combat sports attract top athletes. Most people need street defense for their body type and athleticism. Have you seen a women’s self defense class? Do you think they are teaching leg kicks and rear naked choke or a car key to the eye? Legend of wing chun is women’s self defense effective to beat men. It is meant to be efficient and fast to learn.

A muay thai/bjj student would also lose to a sport combat athlete in muay thai/bjj.

  1. The way you train is what you are ready for. If you don’t fight full speed, not just gear sparring, you are not ready for the ring. If you don’t train against the style you will face, your reflexes will not be prepared. A top athlete that wants fame and fortune would train directly for that sport, not train a different art and try to adapt it.

Wing chun beats MMA and other styles in places like Taiwan. Check out fight commentary breakdown.

Most people will be average at any style including BJJ, not what you see on TV.

Fights get fixed to promote and protect their stars against underqualified opponents.

You cant enter a boxer into a muay thai rules ring. You can’t put bjj into a boxing ring. Professionals learn to exploit the rules and setting like using the cage or gaining points like Taekwondo. If you don’t know the game, how can you win the match?

  1. Traditional martial arts has proven to add creativity to the muay thai/bjj purple belt clone to throw the opponent off guard.

Ferguson did it in the ring.

  1. Many might be carrying a legal weapon. Many styles lack weapon training.
