Wing Chun is a system of kung fu that has evolved over many hundreds of years. Its origins are in the ming and chin dynasties of china. Wing Chun literally translates to Everlasting Springtime and Kung Fu means acheivement through effort.
Wing Chun is not fancy, its straight to the point and deals with the opposition as quickly and efficiently as possible. This is achieved by using five main principles.
Simplicity: All moves are natural body movements, suitable for all body types and levels of fitness.
Directness: All strikes are directed straight to the opponents centre line. Defend and strike simultaneously.
Economy of Movement: No unnecessary movements, keeping it simple.
Minimum Use of Brute Strength: Skills , not strength are used, to defeat larger opponents. Deflecting incoming force and delivering devastating strikes using correct body alignment, not muscle mass.
Practicality: All moves are for real life situations.
